policy change
The Mental Health Justice Project supports policy efforts that strengthen access to mental health care and disability benefits. Drawing on our experience representing individuals, we advocate for practical policy solutions that reduce insurance barriers and improve access to care.

Advocating for you
The Mental Health Justice Project works with community partners, consumer groups, and policymakers to support policy reforms that protect the rights of insured individuals and expand access to mental healthcare. Our advocacy is informed by the experiences of the people we represent and focuses on addressing insurance practices that limit access to care and benefits.
We support policies that promote affordable, comprehensive health coverage, including mental health care, and stronger protections for disability benefits related to mental health conditions. Our team at MHJP also advocates for stronger protections for disability benefits for claims arising from mental health conditions and has offered testimony at both the state and federal level.
We believe that individuals navigating health insurance and disability benefits should be treated with dignity and fairness. We welcome collaboration with organizations and advocates working toward these shared goals and encourage you to partner with us.
